Abstract

The article delves into the optimal operation of load aggregators in power systems, focusing on the role of controllable air conditioners (ACLs) and the challenges posed by intermittent uncertainties. It introduces a second-order ETP model to simulate ACL operation more accurately than first-order models, and a rolling optimization strategy to address uncertainties in electricity price, outdoor temperature, uncontrollable load, and solar irradiance. The proposed methods aim to minimize operational costs while maintaining thermal comfort, enhancing the efficiency and robustness of power system operations. The case study demonstrates the effectiveness of the control strategy and the benefits of the rolling optimization method, making the article a valuable resource for professionals in power system engineering and research.
