Abstract

The article explores the optimization of heavy metal ion adsorption using Melia azedarach activated carbon, focusing on Cu(II), Pb(II), and Ni(II) ions. The study employs Response Surface Methodology with a Central Composite Design to identify the optimal conditions for adsorbent dosage, initial concentration, and contact time. The results demonstrate significant improvements in removal efficiency and adsorption capacity, highlighting the potential of Melia azedarach as an effective adsorbent for heavy metal remediation. The article also provides detailed response surface plots and statistical analyses, offering a comprehensive understanding of the adsorption process and its optimization.
