Optimization of Truck Driver Cab Ergonomic for Commercial Truck Based on Ramsis: Enhancing Driver Comfort and Safety

Abstract

The article delves into the optimization of truck driver cab ergonomics, highlighting the significance of factors like seat comfort, steering control, and workspace adequacy. By employing RAMSIS software, the study focuses on the distinct ergonomic needs of Indian truck drivers, contrasting them with standard Western guidelines. The research involves creating customized human body models and simulating various driver postures to identify optimal cab configurations. The findings indicate that adjustments in steering wheel and seat positions can significantly enhance driver comfort and safety, validated through both simulation and subjective evaluations. The study underscores the necessity of tailoring ergonomic designs to specific ethnic groups and provides valuable insights into the application of advanced simulation tools in automotive design.
