Abstract

The article explores the optimization of wind-solar hybrid power plant configurations to maximize energy production and reduce intermittency issues. It discusses the concept of complementarity between wind and solar resources, introduces methodologies for sizing and resizing hybrid plants, and presents case studies from Brazil and other regions. The authors highlight the potential benefits of hybridization, such as improved grid efficiency and reduced costs, while also addressing the challenges and limitations of current regulatory frameworks.
