Abstract

The article delves into the application of ozonation as a green method for extracting phenolic compounds from vine shoots, a lignocellulosic waste material from the wine industry. It highlights the advantages of ozonation over traditional chemical treatments, such as lower production costs and minimal environmental impact. The study compares the effectiveness of ozonation under different conditions (pH and time) on the yields, phenolic content, and antioxidant capacity of extracts from two common grape varieties, Tempranillo and Verdejo. By doing so, it offers a promising alternative for the valorization of vine shoots, contributing to waste reduction and the development of bioactive materials.
