Abstract

The article introduces a metaheuristic algorithm called Artificial Ecosystem Optimization (AEO) for estimating the parameters of photovoltaic cell and module models. AEO is inspired by ecosystem mechanisms such as production, consumption, and decomposition to improve search efficiency. The algorithm is compared with other metaheuristic methods like PSO, CSA, EO, GA, and BSA, and demonstrates superior performance in estimating parameters for single diode, double diode, and photovoltaic module models. The study also validates AEO on commercial photovoltaic modules under different irradiance and temperature conditions, showing its reliability and efficiency. The article highlights the advantages of AEO over existing methods and its potential for practical applications in the photovoltaic industry.
