Abstract

The article delves into the potential of partially replacing Pb2+ in MAPbI2.6Cl0.4 perovskite films to enhance photovoltaic performance and address the toxicity concerns associated with lead in solar cells. It discusses the impressive properties of perovskite materials and their rapid advancement in power conversion efficiency. However, the article highlights the challenges of low stability and toxicity that hinder the large-scale development of perovskite solar cells. It explores compositional engineering and the use of non-toxic elements as promising strategies to improve stability and reduce environmental impact. The article also provides insights into the decomposition of perovskite materials and the potential risks of lead contamination, emphasizing the need for innovative solutions to ensure the commercial viability of perovskite solar cells.
