This chapter explores the growing demand for handling large volumes of data in business processes, leading to the adoption of NoSQL databases, particularly graph-oriented models. It introduces Participatory Modeling, a unique approach to modeling graph-oriented databases that reduces data accesses while maintaining database clustering. The method involves the database designer's participation, incorporating business rules to simplify the entity-relationship model and convert it into a graph-oriented database model. The chapter compares this method with four existing methods, highlighting its superior performance in query execution time and reduced data accesses. The experimental results on the Movies database demonstrate the effectiveness of Participatory Modeling in optimizing graph database performance.
