On March 1, 2019, Christian Senger was appointed Member of the Volkswagen Passenger Cars Board of Management with responsibility for the new Digital Car & Services Function and Head of Digital Car & Services for the Volkswagen Group. He has assumed overall responsibility for the coordination and design of the Volkswagen Group's digital activities, including software. He is tasked with bringing together the group's software activities and strengthening the customer-centric development of the group's brands. He will also work to ensure that Volkswagen is a particularly attractive employer for staff with expertise and talent in the digital field. Senger previously headed the Volkswagen brand's e-mobility product line. He was instrumental in driving the brand's electric initiative forward and was responsible for the MEB modular electric toolkit. Before that, Senger, who has a degree in mechanical engineering, held several senior management roles at companies including Continental and BMW.
