Excerpt

Software will play an increasingly important role in the coming generations of vehicles. Consequently, Bosch and Microsoft are joining forces to develop a software platform for seamless connectivity between vehicles and the cloud. The objective of the collaboration is to enable vehicle software to be further developed more quickly, more easily, and throughout the entire life of the car in the future. It is also intended to enable software to be uploaded to the control units and vehicle computers via the cloud. The software platform is based on Microsoft's Azure cloud computing framework and also incorporates software modules from Bosch. Furthermore, both companies will design tools to increase the efficiency of the software development process. Thanks to the new platform, innovation cycles will be shorter and the development costs for vehicle software will be reduced.
