Performance Analysis of EGC Receivers Over Generalized-\(\mathcal {K} (\mathcal {K}_{G})\) Fading Channels

Abstract

In this Letter, the performance of an equal gain combiner operating over Generalized-\(\mathcal {K} (\mathcal {K}_{G})\) fading channels is studied and evaluated. Tight and novel closed-form expressions are derived regarding some important system measures, namely the outage probability, the average symbol error probability, the average signal-to-noise ratio, the amount of fading and the average capacity. The analysis considers independent and identically distributed \(\mathcal {K}_{G}\) fading channels and mixed integer/integer plus one half value combinations for the 2 parameters of the corresponding fading distribution. Moreover, the mathematical analysis is accompanied with performance evaluation and simulation numerical results which reveal both the accuracy and usefulness of the proposed approach.
