Abstract

The chapter delves into the performance analysis of inter-satellite optical wireless communication (ISOWC) links, focusing on the advantages of using high-frequency light signals for high data rates and minimal transmission delays. It compares various modulation schemes, such as chirped, AMI, and DPSK, and evaluates their performance based on quality factors and bit error rates. The study optimizes system parameters, including wavelength, data rates, power levels, and aperture diameters, to improve link performance. Notably, the chapter concludes that DPSK modulation provides the best performance for ISOWC links, offering insights into practical implementations for future communication applications.
