Abstract

The article delves into the critical issue of heavy metal contamination in wastewater and the need for effective treatment methods. It introduces thin-film nanocomposite polyamide nanofiltration membranes as a promising solution, focusing on the incorporation of graphene oxide and aluminum fumarate metal-organic framework (AlFu) nanostructures. The study examines how these nanostructures enhance membrane properties such as hydrophilicity, water flux, and salt rejection, making them highly effective for wastewater treatment. The research also addresses the challenges of membrane fouling and the uniform dispersion of nanostructures. By comparing the performance of these novel membranes with existing technologies, the article offers valuable insights into the future of wastewater treatment.
