Physio-mechanical characterization of kenaf/saw dust reinforced polymer matrix composite and selection of optimal configuration using MADM-VIKOR approach

Abstract

The article delves into the physio-mechanical characterization of kenaf/sawdust reinforced polymer matrix composites, highlighting the advantages of using natural fibers over synthetic ones. It discusses the benefits and challenges of incorporating sawdust as a filler, focusing on its impact on density, water absorption, tensile strength, flexural strength, and impact strength. The Multi-Attribute Decision Making (MADM) approach, specifically the VIKOR method, is employed to select the optimal composite configuration. The study concludes that sawdust can significantly enhance composite properties, making it a viable option for sustainable and cost-effective applications in various industries.
