Abstract

The article introduces a groundbreaking method for producing pinhole-free methylammonium bismuth iodide perovskite solar cells through multi-step spin coating. This technique enhances the cell's morphology, leading to improved performance and stability. The study highlights the challenges of pinhole formation and rough surfaces in existing bismuth-based perovskite cells and demonstrates how the new method addresses these issues. By optimizing the thickness and crystallite size of the perovskite layers, the authors achieve remarkable improvements in solar cell efficiency. The research also includes a detailed growth model to explain the mechanism behind the absence of pinholes, providing valuable insights for further advancements in perovskite solar cell technology.
