Plastic Deformation Resistance of Steel Grades EP450-Sh and EP823-Sh in Hot and Cold State

Abstract

The article presents the results of plastometric studies on hot deformation and studies on the hardening curves in cold deformation of EP450-Sh (12H12M1BFR-Sh) and EP823-Sh (16H12MVSFBR-Sh) steels used in contemporary nuclear reactors. The scientific information of the properties of these steels, obtained using the Gleeble 3800 thermomechanical process simulator, in the process of hot deformation, served as the basis for the design of rational modes of pipe extrusion with the required quality level. Based on specifying the aspects of hardening during cold deformation, the limiting factors were indicated, and effective modes of cold rolling of pipes from these steels were developed.
