Magna's 7HDT300 and 7HDT400 hybrid transmissions represent a significant advancement in 48-V hybrid technology. Based on a P2.5 architecture, these transmissions integrate an electric motor directly into the transmission case, enabling platform-compatible hybridization. This design allows for scalable functionality, including the potential for purely electric driving, and offers advantages such as efficient use of 48-V power, active cooling of the electric motor, and the ability to adapt to various vehicle manufacturers' requirements. The transmissions have been successfully implemented in series production, demonstrating their practical applicability and potential for reducing fleet consumption on a large scale. The article highlights the unique features of these transmissions, their integration capabilities, and the benefits they offer over traditional hybrid systems.
