Mitsubishi will roll out a new model in Germany in 2021: the Eclipse Cross plug-in hybrid. The redesigned PHEV SUV also features an all-wheel drive.

Given the reorientation of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance, Mitsubishi considers its most important future markets to be outside Europe. Nevertheless, the Eclipse Cross plug-in hybrid is a new model coming to Germany in 2021. After the Outlander, this is the second PHEV from Mitsubishi and is also due to be launched in other selected European markets.

The design of the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross has been fine-tuned: a new radiator grille, newly shaped headlights and a new tailgate at the rear are standouts of the new facelift. The materials in the interior have been improved, and the display on the newly designed dashboard is now 8 inches large. According to reports, the Cross Eclipse will incorporate the drivetrain from the Outlander PHEV. With electric motors at the front and the rear, the SUV has the Super All Wheel Control (S-AWC) all-wheel drive. The 2.4-litre petrol engine acts as a generator or powers the front wheels directly.
