The Grandland X SUV will be Opel's first plug-in hybrid vehicle. The X Hybrid4 model will be equipped with PSA's hybrid powertrain and should enter the market in the beginning of 2020.

The Opel Grandland X Hybrid4 is available with an optional black engine hood. PSA's plug-in hybrid powertrain combines a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine with two electric motors. Similar to the Peugeot 3008 GT Hybrid4, the Grandland X has a system output of up to 300 hp. The hybrid SUV offers four driving modes (Fully electric, hybrid, AWD and sport).

The 147 kW/200 hp, 1.6-litre turbocharged direct injection four-cylinder petrol engine will cover middle and high speeds. It is Euro 6d-TEMP-compliant and transmits power to the front wheels via the electrified eight-speed automatic transmission.

The electric drive has been designed for low speeds. Two 80 kW/109 hp electric motors provide power to the rear wheels, making the Grandland X Hybrid4 capable of all-wheel drive. The 13.2 kWh lithium-ion battery has been installed under the rear back seats and is designed to provide a purely electric range of 50 km.

Using the recuperation function, the Opel can also be driven without using the friction brake ("One Pedal Driving"). The battery charges fully in around one hour and 50 minutes with a 7.4 kW wallbox. A 3.3 kW on-board charger is fitted as standard, but an optional 6.6 kW version is also available.
