Abstract

The article presents a groundbreaking design for AlGaN deep-UV LEDs that eliminates the need for an electron-blocking layer. By employing linearly graded polarization-controlled quantum barriers, the proposed structure reduces electrostatic fields and improves carrier confinement, leading to enhanced output power and wall-plug efficiency. The study compares this innovative design with conventional LEDs, demonstrating notable improvements in performance.
