Abstract

The article explores the enhancement of Scots pine wood properties through poly(ε-caprolactone) grafting, focusing on improved dimensional stability, weathering resistance, and decay resistance. The study demonstrates the effectiveness of this eco-friendly modification method in reducing water absorption, enhancing surface hydrophobicity, and providing significant protection against fungal attacks. The results show that polycaprolactone modification can significantly improve wood properties, making it a promising candidate for sustainable and durable outdoor wood applications.
