The power electronics in electrical propulsion systems are liquid-cooled and leak tests are therefore of the greatest safety-relevant importance. In view of its acceptance and support by all renowned motor-vehicle manufacturers, LV 124, a standard for electrical tests, will also become established as a specification for these tests. Schäfer Technologies has developed and constructed a universal leak-testing facility which conforms to the corresponding specifications of a German premium OEM. Within this framework, the company evaluates the maximum requirements for implementability and benefits, and in some cases defines more precisely the rather vague specifications contained in LV 124. …
