Abstract

The article delves into the realm of quantum digital signatures (QDS), focusing on the practical implementation of long-distance twin-field QDS protocols. It introduces two novel protocols, Protocol I and Protocol II, which leverage twin-field key generation protocols (TF-KGPs) to generate correlated bit strings. These protocols are designed to be feasible with common optical components and can be deployed in fiber networks. The authors analyze the security of these protocols against forging and repudiation attacks, ensuring robustness and unforgeability. Through numerical simulations, they demonstrate that both protocols outperform existing QDS methods in terms of transmission distance and signature rate, effectively overcoming the PLOB bound. The article concludes with a comparison of the performance of Protocol I and SNS-QDS, highlighting the superiority of Protocol I in terms of signature rate and distance. This work bridges the gap between theoretical advancements and practical implementations in quantum cryptography, making long-distance QDS a reality.
