Zusammenfassung

Das Hadaikum war von dramatischen Prozessen gekennzeichnet: Auf einem Magmameer bildete sich die erste (basische) feste Erdkruste, die nachfolgend durch ein massives kosmisches Bombardement von Meteoriten und Kometen wieder vollständig zerstört wurde. Schon im späten Hadaikum entstanden erste Inseln kontinentaler Kruste. Im Archaikum setzten plattentektonische Prozesse ein und Uratmosphäre und Urozean stabilisierten sich. Der Übergang vom Archaikum zum Proterozoikum war von starkem Zuwachs kontinentaler Kruste und von weiter nachlassenden Impakten geprägt. Während des gesamten Präkambriums bildeten sich und zerfielen mehrere Superkontinente.
