Abstract

The article explores the relationship between the physical and mechanical properties of intact igneous rocks and their petrographic features. By conducting a detailed study on 16 types of igneous rocks from the Gelas tunnel route in Naghadeh City, the authors employ statistical methods and machine learning algorithms to predict properties such as uniaxial compressive strength, abrasivity index, and drillability index. The study highlights the significant role of rock fabric features and mineralogical composition in determining the engineering properties of igneous rocks, offering valuable insights for applications in mining and construction projects.
