Abstract

The article explores the development of holey ZnO nanosheets doped with gold nanoparticles for enhanced gas-sensing properties, particularly for acetone detection. The researchers prepared the nanosheets via hydrothermal reaction and calcination, resulting in materials with large specific surface areas and improved gas-diffusion paths. The gold doping prevented nanosheet restacking and increased exposed surface area, enhancing gas-sensing properties. The sensors exhibited high sensitivity and fast response times, making them promising for medical diagnosis and low-concentration acetone detection.
