Abstract

The article delves into the synthesis and characterization of n-p heterojunction polyaniline-vanadium pentoxide composites for moisture detection. It discusses the increasing demand for humidity control across various industries, leading to the development of polyaniline-based sensors. The study focuses on the advantages of polyaniline, such as ease of processing and room temperature operation, and addresses the limitations of pure polyaniline by incorporating vanadium pentoxide. The composites were fabricated using an in situ chemical polymerization process and characterized using techniques like FTIR, XRD, and SEM. The composites exhibited significantly improved humidity sensing responses compared to pure polyaniline, with the 50 wt.% PANI-V2O5 composite showing the highest sensitivity. The study also highlights the stability and potential practical applications of these composites in humidity sensing devices.
