Abstract

The article explores the preparation of phosphorylated kapok fiber using ammonium dihydrogen phosphate, focusing on the optimization of reaction conditions and the characterization of the resulting material. It delves into the thermal degradation and flame retardancy of the phosphorylated fiber, demonstrating its superior performance compared to untreated kapok fiber. The study highlights the potential of phosphorylated kapok fiber as a flame retardant material, emphasizing its enhanced thermal stability and char formation during combustion. The research also compares the phosphorylation efficiency of kapok fiber with that of cotton fiber, showing that kapok fiber exhibits higher phosphorylation due to its unique morphological structure.
