Preparation of porous SnO2/ZnO nanotubes via a single spinneret electrospinning technique as anodes for lithium ion batteries

Abstract

The novel SnO2/ZnO nanotubes had been synthesized by a simple electrospinning method. The morphology and structure of the as-prepared SnO2/ZnO nanotubes were characterized by SEM and TEM, which suggested the hollow structure of the nanotubes with average diameters ranged from 200 to 300 nm. The SnO2/ZnO nanotubes show high initial discharge capacity of 1932 mA h g−1 and maintain a reversible capacity of 584.5 mA h g−1 even after 45 cycles at a current density of 168 mA g−1, endowing its potential application in lithium ion batteries.
