Abstract

The article delves into the preparation of TiB2-20WtPctMoSi2 composite material through mechanochemical synthesis and spark plasma sintering. It addresses the limitations of titanium diboride ceramics, such as low fracture toughness and poor densification, and introduces molybdenum disilicide as a promising sintering additive. The study investigates the mechanosynthesis process, the consolidation of mechanically synthesized powders by SPS, and the mechanical properties of the resulting composite material. The novelty lies in the comprehensive approach to achieving dense, high-quality ceramics with improved mechanical properties.
