Abstract

The article delves into the production of hydrogen gas sensors based on sol–gel spin-coated Nb2O5 thin films. It discusses the importance of Nb2O5 as a strategic high-technology material and the various phases of Nb2O5 depending on production methods and temperatures. The sol–gel spin-coating technique is highlighted for its advantages in producing homogeneous and low-cost thin films. The study focuses on the influence of film thickness on the gas-sensing properties of Nb2O5 films, presenting detailed analyses of structural, morphological, and gas-sensing performance. The results show that the optimal film thickness enhances sensitivity and response times, making the sensors highly effective at room temperature. The article also emphasizes the selectivity and stability of the sensors, demonstrating their potential for practical applications in gas detection.
