Miba has developed a battery cooling system for electric vehicles with a flexible shape that adapts perfectly to the battery cells. The Flexcooler liquid cooling system is designed for prismatic, cylindrical, and pouch battery cells. The close connection between battery cells and coolant allows the system to absorb and dissipate heat efficiently. Gap fillers, which plug the gap between the cells and the cooling system, are no longer needed. In addition, according to Miba, the Flexcooler is up to 80 % lighter than comparable products. Miba is currently working as part of an EU research project on developing a variant with sensors which will allow important information about the temperature distribution in the battery to be supplied to the car's computer and will make it possible to improve the functioning of the system while the car is running
