Siemens Digital Industries Software has launched a new version of its simulation and test software Simcenter Testlab. The enhancements include updates of the Simcenter Testlab Neo, improved model-based system tests, and the introduction of Digital Image Correlation (DIC) as a new technology for structural dynamics. DIC allows full-field 3-D geometry, displacement, and strain information to be extracted under any load and for almost any material, with limited instrumentation. It is also possible to identify material properties, validate numerical models, and assess the strength of materials and components. The analysis of structural vibrations and dynamic responses is said to enable accelerated development cycles. …
