Volvo Trucks has further developed the so-called I-Save concept in its FH long-haul truck series with the 13-l, six-cylinder D13TC diesel engine. The measures include optimizations to the engine technology, the control software and measures to reduce air resistance. As part of this, the manufacturer has adapted the injectors, compression and camshaft to new pistons with a shaft profile. The overall weight and internal friction have been reduced as a result. The turbo charger and oil pump have also been revised. What is more, a new additional version with 309 kW and 2100 Nm maximum torque is now available in addition to the 345-kW and 368-kW power stages previously offered.
