Magnetic angle sensors, that use the Hall effect, works contactless and have by now proved their reliability and longevity in the agricultural sector, for example. Until now, there shall be many situations where installation requirements for the easy-to-mount plugin variants could not be fulfilled with off-the-shelf products. Contelec has now developed a flexible sensor concept than has been designed to cover a large range of mechanical and electrical interfaces. The new Vert-X 26 series of sensors consist of a mechanical and an electrical module: The mechanical module offers a hole spacing of 32 or 50 mm for mechanical attachment and is equipped with shaft and a choice of either sliding or ball bearings. It is combined with a completely sealed electronic module that offers a choice of different connector types (AMP MQS 6pole, AMP Superseal 3pole or DTM04/DT04 6pole). The measurement values are provided as analog voltage or current signals, if required also as fully redundant versions, or sent via a digital CANopen or CAN-J1939 interface. The sensors work with a repeatability accuracy of ± 1° at an independent linearity of ± 1 %, optionally from ± 0.3 %.
