Farasis Energy has introduced an ultra-high-power variant of its fourth- generation battery cells for electric vehicles. According to the company, this variant not only enables higher energy density than previous cell generations, but also significantly improves fast-charge time and durability (1500 charge cycles). With this variant, the focus can be placed more on range or more on fast-charging capability, depending on customer requirements. In less than 8 min, the battery can be charged in fast charging mode for a range of 250 km. With an energy density of 300 Wh/kg and 692 Wh/l, it simultaneously will enable ranges of up to 700 km, depending on the module size and drive system. The start of industrial production is planned for 2025.
