Abstract

The article delves into the utilization of beta-phosphogypsum (PG) and low calcium fly ash (LCFA) as sustainable cementitious materials. It discusses the challenges of PG disposal and its impact on the environment, highlighting the potential of combining PG with alkali activators to create strong geopolymers. The study investigates the physical properties and durability of modified fly ash-based geopolymers under different curing times and environmental conditions. Microscopic analysis techniques such as XRD, FT-IR, SEM, and BET are employed to reveal the mechanisms behind the interaction between PG and LCFA in geopolymers. The research aims to reduce the environmental footprint of PG and promote sustainable waste management in the construction industry.
