Abstract

The chapter explores the practical implementation of robotics and IoT in various fields, leveraging microservices and Industry 4.0 principles to create modular, decentralized cyber-physical systems. It discusses the use of MQTT for communication, the development of a dashboard for system management, and the integration of vision and sensing technologies. The authors present several case studies, including adaptive robotic concrete spraying, 6-axis milling, and real-time relative robot movements, demonstrating the versatility and potential of these systems. The chapter also highlights the advantages of using digital twins for simulation and development, and concludes with a discussion on the future work and improvements needed for industrial applications.
