Porsche has presented the 911 GT3 R rennsport in California. The strictly limited-edition circuit car is based on the new 911 GT3 R of the 992 generation.

At the "Rennsport Reunion 7" at the WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca in California, Porsche presented the 911 GT3 R rennsport collector's item. The design-oriented racing car was created by Grant Larson and Thorsten Klein from the Style Porsche team free of FIA GT3 regulations. The front hood and roof were adopted from the standard GT3 R, while all other bodywork elements were modified. The side fins and flics are now framed by a side cowl and are therefore better protected against damage. A camera system replaces the wing mirrors. The most striking feature is the rear wing, which is reminiscent of the Brumos Porsche 935/77. In addition, the rear is adorned with a light strip with illuminated Porsche lettering and the rear apron has an open design. The 911 GT3 R Rennsport is fitted with 18-inch BBS rims and Michelin racing tires. The safety features in the interior, which also features ambient lighting, comply with current FIA standards.

The drivetrain is based on the 911 GT3 R of the 992 generation, but overrides the strict requirements of motorsport homologation or restrictions imposed by a "Balance of Performance" (BoP). The 4.2-l six-cylinder boxer engine delivers up to 456 kW (620 hp). The water-cooled four-valve engine with direct fuel injection revs up to 9,400 rpm and has been designed to run on E25 fuels. Special pistons and camshafts were developed for this purpose. As with the standard model, power is transmitted to the rear axle via the sequential six-speed constant-mesh gearbox. Gear changes are made via steering wheel paddles. The suspension with double wishbone layout at the front and multi-link construction at the rear also comes from the 911 GT3 R. The five-way adjustable racing shock absorbers from KW have a blow-off function. The aluminum monobloc racing brake system from AP is fitted with brake pads with titanium backing plates.

Only 77 Vehicles of The Racing Model Will Be Built

The special model is limited to 77 units worldwide. Porsche is offering the 911 GT3 R rennsport with a bodyshell painted in agate gray metallic and bodywork in pure carbon. On request, there is a choice of seven colors for the paintwork of the carbon outer skin and three exclusive paint designs. Porsche Motorsport is offering the limited-edition 911 GT3 R rennsport, which weighs around 1,240 kg, ex works at a price of 951,000 euros (excluding VAT).
