Abstract

The chapter introduces a groundbreaking method for X-ray novel view synthesis (NVS) using radiative Gaussian splatting, addressing the challenges posed by traditional neural radiance field-based methods. By leveraging the isotropic nature of X-ray imaging, the proposed method, X-Gaussian, redesigns the Gaussian point cloud model and introduces a differentiable radiative rasterization technique. This approach not only enhances the performance of NVS but also accelerates training and inference speeds substantially. The method's effectiveness is demonstrated through extensive experiments, showcasing its superiority over state-of-the-art methods and its potential to improve sparse-view CT reconstruction. The chapter also includes a detailed analysis of the method's convergence, initialization strategies, and limitations, providing a comprehensive understanding of its innovative approach.
