Abstract

The article discusses the rapid prediction of MnS precipitation during slab continuous casting of microalloyed steel, highlighting the importance of understanding solute segregation and inclusion precipitation. It introduces the Ohnaka model for predicting solute element changes and presents a variable cooling rate calculation method to enhance prediction accuracy. The study includes experiments to verify the model's effectiveness, showing that the model accurately predicts MnS precipitation under various cooling rates and casting conditions. The findings have significant implications for improving steel quality and process control in the continuous casting process.
