Abstract

The article discusses the potential applications of kapok fiber (KF) in various fields, focusing on its unique structural properties and the functional materials derived from it. KF, derived from the Bombaceae family, is characterized by a hollow-tube structure and hydrophobic-lipophilic nature, making it suitable for oil absorption and adsorption applications. The article explores the use of KF in oil sorbents, adsorbents for metal ions and dyes, sound absorption materials, and energy storage devices such as supercapacitors and batteries. It also highlights the potential of KF in thermal energy storage and photocatalysis.
