Abstract

This chapter delves into the recycling potential of demolished diaphragm wall material, a significant byproduct of construction projects. The research focuses on processing methods to make the material suitable for concrete production, including crushing, sieving, and washing to remove impurities. Key findings include the material's higher water absorption capacity compared to natural aggregates and its potential for use in structural concrete. The chapter also explores the environmental benefits of recycling concrete components, highlighting the reduction in natural resource consumption and the potential to mitigate social conflicts and ecosystem destruction caused by sand mining. Additionally, the text discusses the practical application of recycled aggregates in concrete production, including mix compositions and fresh and hardened concrete properties. The research aims to demonstrate the feasibility of using recycled diaphragm wall material in infrastructure construction, contributing to more sustainable building practices.
