Abstract

Unter Recycling versteht man die Rückführung der bei Produktion und Verbrauch anfallenden Nebenprodukte und Reststoffe in den Produktions-Verbrauchs-Kreislauf. Sammlung, Transport von Abfall und das eigentliche Recycling ebenso wie die Beseitigung von Abfällen benötigen Energie und Ressourcen. Nach einer Einführung in die Theorie und Praxis des Recycling (Abschn. 10.1) wird in Abschn. 10.2 ein überblick über die Recyclingpraxis in verschiedenen Wirtschaftssektoren (Bergbau, Grundstoffindustrie, Baugewerbe) und für typische Materialien (Kunststoff, Elektronikschrott, Altauto) gegeben. Abschnitt 10.3 zeigt die Entwicklungen zu integrierten Recyclingkonzepten für eine klimaverträgliche Stoffwirtschaft.
