Der Grad des automatisierten Fahrens beeinflusst auch die Funktionen und die Form des Lenkrads der Zukunft. So könnte ab Stufe 4 ein Teil des Lenkradkranzes entfallen, um mehr Beinfreiheit für den Fahrer zu schaffen. In einer Probandenstudie fand Takata heraus, dass solche reduzierten Lenkräder die Verkehrssicherheit beeinträchtigen. Es empfiehlt sich, den 6-Uhr-Bereich abzuflachen, aber für die Kontrollierbarkeit des Fahrzeugs den Lenkradkranz geschlossen zu halten und ihn nicht zu unterbrechen. …
