Abstract

The chapter discusses the urgent need for sustainable design in the hospitality industry, highlighting the environmental impact of tourism and the role of design in mitigating these effects. It introduces the concept of regenerative spaces, which aim to reconnect hospitality spaces with nature, and presents a case study of a sustainable floating resort designed to collect microplastics and educate guests on environmental conservation. The research combines theoretical frameworks with practical design strategies, emphasizing the importance of life-cycle design and interdisciplinary collaboration to achieve sustainable tourism experiences.
