Abstract

The article delves into the regulation of non-metallic inclusions in ultra-low carbon steel using pulsed electric current (PEC) technology, focusing on inhibiting submerged entry nozzle (SEN) clogging during continuous casting. Key topics include the principles of electric field regulation on inclusions, the experimental process involving industrial application, and the results demonstrating the impact of PEC on inclusion size, number density, and types. The study also explores the effects of PEC on mold-level fluctuations, adhering layer thickness on the SEN inner wall, and cold rolling defect rates. Notably, the research achieves 7-heat continuous casting without nozzle replacement, significantly improving production efficiency and slab quality. The findings highlight the potential of PEC technology to enhance steel purity, reduce defects, and optimize the continuous casting process, offering a promising solution for high-grade steel production.
