Abstract

The chapter delves into the critical issue of ageing populations and the need for innovative rehabilitation solutions. It presents the design and development of a rehabilitation tricycle powered by a pneumatic drive system, highlighting the selection and analysis of various pneumatic actuators. The text also covers the prototyping phase, including the creation of solid models and electrical schematics, and the rigorous testing of the prototypes in both laboratory and field settings. The results demonstrate the effectiveness and potential of the air-assisted rehabilitation tricycle in enhancing mobility and rehabilitation outcomes.
