Abstract

This chapter delves into the groundbreaking concept of remodeling photon structures to significantly enhance the efficiency of solar energy capture. By leveraging nanoscale photon-band-gap (PBG) structures and point defects, the study demonstrates how dormant photons can be agitated into energetically active states, thereby generating multiple photons from a single photon. This innovative approach is meticulously analyzed using MATLAB and Simulink, providing a comprehensive understanding of photon quantum dynamics within photovoltaic cells. The research introduces a four-diode circuit model to calculate the efficiency of advanced photovoltaic cells, highlighting the potential to meet substantial energy demands with minimal photovoltaic surface area. Through detailed mathematical calculations and simulations, the chapter reveals the transformative potential of this technology in addressing global power crises and reducing climate change impacts. The findings suggest that by converting a mere fraction of a building's exterior into advanced solar photovoltaic cells, it is possible to meet the entire energy demand, paving the way for a sustainable energy future.
