Abstract

The article delves into the application of magic, a crucial resource in quantum computation, for detecting quantum phase transitions in spin models. It utilizes the quantum renormalization group (QRG) method to investigate the critical behavior of the one-dimensional anisotropic XXZ and XY models. The study employs a quantifier for magic based on the characteristic functions of quantum states, which is straightforward to compute and well-defined for all dimensional quantum systems. The authors analyze the scaling behaviors of the magic quantifier near the critical points and compare their findings with previous results involving coherence. The research highlights the effectiveness of magic in detecting quantum phase transitions and provides a unique perspective on the resources required for quantum computation.
